Bogota's main event for the bicentennial Independence celebrations will take place at the Plaza de Bolivar, the exact spot where Colombians first declared their independence 200 years ago.
The celebrations will include dance and theater performances as well as fireworks and visual projections onto the square's buildings.
There will also be performances from Colombian singers Maria Mulata and Victoria Sur.
The show starts at 7PM, entrance is free and the public can enter between 4PM and 7PM.
Pets and children under 10 years old cannot enter, and the offical website advises people to wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
Bogota's Grand National Concert will take place at the Parque Metropolitano Simon Bolivar. The concert starts at 12PM and features performances from Jorge Celedon, Grupo Niche, el Coro Celis Sisters and el Cumbion de Cereteque.
At 7AM in the morning the "Urna del Centenario," a chest sealed on October 30, 1911, will opened at the Bogota Archive (Carrera 5A, 5A).
The chest will be opened according to instructions left 100 years ago by the Honorable Council of Bogota. No-one knows exactly what is in the chest, but some people whisper that it contains top-secret objects and documents.
After the secrets have been revealed another chest is will be locked with instructions to be opened 100 years from now at the tricentennial celebrations in 2110.
For those who prefer to contemplate two hundred years of independence in the quiet halls of a museum, the Museo Nacional de Colombia is currently hosting a special exhibition in honor of the bicentenary.
