Chairman of the US Senate Finance Committee called on President Obama on Tuesday to act fast in resolving the issues blocking trade agreements with Colombia, Panama and South Korea.

The Chairman, Max Baucus said that Free Trade Agreements with these countries had to be finalised and confirmed or abandoned completely, reported Reuters via news site Terra.

"We have to trade or disband," Baucus declared at a conference at George Washington University, while he added that ten months after Obama took office, he felt a blatant absence of comprehensive trade policy.

In the conference, Baucus also urged Obama to announce U.S. commercial discussions with other countries such as Vietnam and New Zealand as part of the Trans-Pacific Partnership initiative.

The end of the 13% penalty tariff on imported US goods for not passing the FTA (by Colombia) is one good reason to sign ratify the agreement. This is hurting US manufactures that want to import into Colombia.
