A fake Rolex watch owned by slain FARC commander "Raul Reyes" will be auctioned by the National Narcotics Department (DNE).
A counterfeit Rolex costs between US$300 and $400 on the black market, DNE official Omar Figueroa told the newspaper Terra Thursday. But in Figueroa's opinion, the watch has no value since it belonged to the head of a terrorist group.
"A good replica of a Rolex can do about 300,000 to 400,000 pesos on the street, but because this one is of 'Raul Reyes', a character who did so much damage to the country, I think it would have a negative value," the official said.
Figueroa, whose organization manages the assets seized from drug trafficking and groups linked to the drug business, believes that the knock-off Rolex might be of interest for the family of Reyes or the FARC itself.
