The Minister of Defense Rodrigo Rivera has denied any division within the military over how to combat armed groups, following recent attacks attributed to the FARC and ELN.
Rivera told Caracol that the recent events show that "the FARC are in their final stage, and because of this, are allying themselves with their old enemies" in order to increase their actions.
He went on to explain that the recent actions of FARC in the department of Antioquia have been in order to combat "Operation Medusa", an effort to combat guerillas in the area.
