Magnitude 4.4 earthquake hits southwest Colombia

An 4.4 magnitude earthquake shook the southwest Colombian department of Huila at 5:02AM Tuesday.

According to news website Terra, the Institute of Geology and Mining reported that the epicenter of the quake was 17.9 kilometers southeast of the municipality of Rivera. The tremor was also felt in the neighboring municipalities of Palmira and Neiva.

There were no reported injuries or damage. The depth of the tremor was superficial, at 30 kilometers.
