A song by Colombian superstar Shakira's was elected official anthem for the FIFA World Cup to be held in South Africa later this year.
The song Waka Waka was recorded together with South African band Freshly Ground and expected to be released on April 26.
On June 10, at the official pre-tournament concert, Shakira and Freshly Ground will perform the song live.
The 2010 FIFA World Cup will kick off on June 11 and last until July 11.
