Thursday was a good night for Colombian music, with popstars Shakira and Juanes both winning accolades at the annual Lo Nuestro music awards, in which fans vote for the best in Latin American music.
Pitted against Chilean rocker Beto Cuevas and Mexican band Mana, the popular Medellin music maker Juanes came out on top as the "Rock Artist of the Year," while the Barranquilla beauty was awarded "Video of the Year" for her mesmerizing "She-Wolf" video.
Although neither of the Colombian artists could make it to the glitzy ceremony itself, which was held at the American Airlines Arena in Maimi, audiences were treated to performances from some of the other stars of Latin American music, including Puerto Rican Daddy Yankee and Mexican Jenni Rivera.
