Colombian vallenato star Silvestre Dangond has been let off the hook a year after he fondled a young fan's crotch at a 2010 concert, reported gossip website La Fiscalia Monday.
The incident -- which took place on stage at the singer's concert on Colombia's Caribbean coast in December 2010 -- was caught on camera at the time, and prompted the Prosecutor General to launch an investigation.
The singer made a public apology at the time, but defended his wandering hand by claiming that such genital-grabbing was "characteristic" of the northern coastal region, where Dangond hails from. He said at the time that he and his cousins "played like this without there being a taboo."
It seems the prosecution finally agrees, concluding there was no grounds for continuing the investigation, a year after it was launched.
At a hearing on January 26, the allegations against the singer will be officially dropped, with Dangond's lawyer announcing they will seek compensation for damages caused to the singer.
